Industrie- und Gewerbezentrum Raum Lahr GmbH (IGZ) is the umbrella organization for the development of the airfield site in the districts of Lahr and Friesenheim into an industrial and commercial center. The company is also involved in the conversion of the barracks area on Langemarckstrasse for civilian purposes, and the city of Lahr holds 45% of the share capital in IGZ. Other shareholders are the municipality of Friesenheim and the Zweckverband Industrie- und Gewerbepark Raum Lahr, each with 20 percent, and the Ortenau district with 15 percent.

IGZ is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Reorganization of the entire airfield area
  • Advice and services for interested parties
  • Settlement of industrial and commercial enterprises
  • Management of the buildings
  • Accommodation of social, sporting and cultural facilities.

In addition to managing the municipal land and buildings in the east of the airfield site, the company also manages the land and buildings in the west of the airfield site, which belong to the Zweckverband Industrie- und Gewerbepark Raum Lahr (IGP).

This makes the company the first point of contact for settlements, marketing and rentals on the entire airfield site.
