Vis-à-Vis-Bus in Lahr

Vis-à-Vis Bus

From the end of May to the beginning of September, the Vis-à-Vis bus connects the Alsace with Baden twice every Saturday. It leaves from Kippenheim on the first Saturday of the month, and otherwise from Friesenheim, travelling via Lahr and Schwanau to Erstein and Obernai.

The Vis-à-Vis bus is a great opportunity to get to know our French neighbours better, and visit the cities of Erstein and Obernai.

The Alsace has plenty of variety to offer: whether enjoying the stunning landscape on a hike, shopping, or simply enjoying the French way of life – you can take the Vis-à-Vis bus to explore the delights of the area on your route.

The Vis-à-Vis bus also has a bike trailer and carries bicycles free of charge, since the Alsace is also a rewarding destination for a cycle tour. And you can even cycle back again. From Obernai, cyclists can take relatively quiet side roads through Krautergersheim, Hindisheim, Nordhouse, Erstein and Krafft to reach the border crossing at Schwanau-Nonnenweier (around 30 kilometres). The Vis-à-Vis bus is of course also perfect for a bike ride to and from Erstein. From Erstein, it's around 10 kilometres to the border crossing at Schwanau-Nonnenweier. Cyclists can then take the newly signposted Rhine-Schuttertal cycle route back to Lahr (12.5 kilometres) and into the Schutter Valley. You can find further information here.
