The path is sponsored by the Central/North Black Forest Nature Park, and combines the region's most attractive hiking trails to create an interesting circular route.
You can start the tour from Reichenbach, Seelbach or Wittelbach, and it can be split into two sections (a north and a south stage). From Reichenbach, the route heads over the Eichberg to the castle ruins of Hohengeroldseck, where a spectacular panoramic view awaits walkers. After descending to the pass at Schönberg, some quiet sections lead to the Lützelhardt castle ruins. The route continues along the edge of the forest towards Seelbach, via the Tretenhof, which lies above the flood plain, and on to Wittelbach.
The route then continues through the peaceful Wolfersbach valley, climbing to the Grassert, and then descending back into the Litschental, where the old Geroldseck armoury is located. A quiet path leads back uphill to the Hasenberg, and from here along the mountain path to the Langenhard, a national natural heritage site, with its spectacular views. The route then heads downhill along the Jägerpfad to Seelbach, and then follows the Lahr-Rottweil trail back to Reichenbach.
