Schutterlindenberg
Formerly, it served as the meeting place for religious or political celebrations – for example, to mark the Battle of the Nations at Leipzig in 1813 and the Baden Constitutional celebration of 1843.
The amazing view from the Schutterlindenberg stretches across the Rhine plain as far as Alsace, and includes the cathedral tower in Strasbourg.
From the Schutterlindenberg, visitors also have a view over two of Lahr's political memorials: the Schubert Memorial commemorates Wilhelm Schubert, the mayor of the Revolution of 1849, while the Constitution Column is dedicated to the Baden Constitution of 1818.
