Information for refugees

Each German federal state is required to accept a quota of asylum applicants. The next step is the allocation of these refugees to towns and districts. Within the district, the administrative offices then allocate the refugees to local municipalities within their area of authority.

In the city of Lahr, the Ortenau district administration is responsible for providing accommodation, as well as ensuring that social workers from the local office for migration provide counselling and support.
