Directions to Lahr

Lahr is conveniently located in the southern Upper Rhine, in the immediate vicinity of Strasbourg, the seat of the European Parliament. Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Basel and the Europa-Park Rust are also nearby.

The A5 motorway and the main B3 and B415 roads link the region to long-distance routes. The Rheintal (Rhine Valley) railway line, which stops in Lahr, with ICE trains stopping in Offenburg, is one of the most important North-South connections in Europe. The Rhine Port of Kehl (around 40 kilometres away) also provides a very good waterway connection. Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport is around 30 minutes away. Lahr also has its own airport, the Black Forest Airport Lahr. Lahr is also situated at the centre of a regional bus network that connects the city with the surrounding area. Within the town, bus routes connect the boroughs and railway station with Lahr city centre.
