Getting to Lahr
The city of Lahr is located in the southern Upper Rhine region, easily accessible by road, and very close to Strasbourg – home of the European Parliament. Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Basel and the Europa-Park resort are also within easy reach.
Lahr has extremely good transport connections. The A5 motorway and the B3 and B415 through-roads open up the region to traffic from afar. The Rhine Valley line, with a regional stop in Lahr and ICE stop at Offenburg, is one of the most important north-south railway connections in Europe. There are also excellent waterway connections (approx. 40 kilometers) from the Rhine port of Kehl. Strasbourg-Entzheim airport is approximately 30 minutes away. Lahr even has its own general aviation airport – the Black Forest Airport Lahr. The city is also located at the centre of a cross-regional bus network connecting Lahr with the surrounding region. Within the city, bus routes connect the boroughs with the main station and town center.
