Schutterlindenberg
The Schutterlindenberg Mountain has an old significance for Lahr as the meeting place for religious or political celebrations – for example, on the occasion of the Battle of the Nations at Leipzig in 1813 or the Baden Constitutional celebration of 1843. Besides a magnificent panorama over the plains of the Rhine into Alsace, including the Cathedral Tower in Strasbourg, here one can take a look at two of the city’s political memorials: The Schubert-Memorial commemorates Wilhelm Schubert, the mayor of the Revolution of 1849, while the Constitution Column is dedicated to the Baden Constitution of 1818.
