Old city hall
Built or at least radically reconstructed in 1608 (date on the pointed arch under the balcony). The first floor was originally an open harvest and judicial hall, the outside staircase with the late Gothic tracery railing was probably added later (1608?). Until 1933 it was the City Hall of the city of Lahr, the council hall on the second floor (historical décor from the late 19th century) is furnished with glass windows, which tell the history of the city. In the gable (cambered volutes) there is a sundial of the well known post-war city planner Otto Heinrich Strohmeyer with the signs of the zodiac. Today the Lahr Office of Culture as well as the City Gallery is in the building.
