SULZ NATURAL POOL - Inhale, Dive, Enjoy

Embedded in the middle of woods and meadows, in the idyllic Sulzbach valley, lies the Sulz natural bathing pool, awarded a prize in 2004 by the Naturschutzbund (natural protection association) NABU. Naturally purified water, free of any chemicals, is an invitation for a swim, a splash and recreation.
The center of attention is the attractive water area of the natural pond with integrated wooden catwalks and platforms for reclining. The natural bathing pool is divided into three different swimming areas and a regeneration area. In the bathing and swimming area, you can swim without any contact with plants and the ground. A children’s splashing area as well as a non-swimmers’ area are demarcated by the preceding shingle banks. The separate regeneration area ensures purification of the water through the self-cleaning powers of the aquatic plants and filter layers in a natural manner.
The association “Verein Naturbad Sulz e.V.” participated actively in the realization of the Sulz natural pool through countless volunteer hours and numerous donations. Since the inauguration of the natural pool, built by the city of Lahr in May 2003, the Verein Naturbad Sulz e.V. has been in charge of operating it.
Different games and sports elements, some of them specially designed for the natural pool, as well as a cultivated, partially covered terrace in natural surroundings round off the attractive features of the natural pool.
