The Baden State Painting and Varnishing Technical College, along with the Federal School for Marketing and the South German College for those in employment (AKAD), offer a variety of development and education opportunities which go beyond regional significance.

Lahr has a good social infrastructure at its disposal and offers a broad spectrum of facilities for all ages. This is thanks, not least, to the great commitment of numerous organisations and societies. It is also a significant goal of municipal youth and social work to provide a good framework, especially for children and teenagers. So it comes as no surprise that the city of Lahr regularly gains regional and national recognition for its innovative school and childcare concepts, and this also applies to the integration of immigrants in our town.
